This week’s guest is Randy Thomas, voice of Entertainment Tonight, live announcer for the Oscars, The Tony’s and much more telling how it all started for her in voice over. Randy shares how her life changed when she became the first woman in history to announce the Oscars in 1993. She describes what the experience was like the first time and gives insights on what it takes to live announce awards shows.

Stacey lists the many “firsts” Randy has had in her voice over career and expresses her gratitude to Randy through a personal experience she had at the 2012 Don LaFontaine Voice Over Lab Fundraiser Poker Tournament. Randy gives her opinion on women in movie trailers and answers the question of how she makes her successful career work living in Florida.

She shares a few photos of her home studio, discusses her book VOICE FOR HIRE, which she co-wrote with Peter Rofe, and tells viewers how they can get a signed copy. Randy shares her favorite memory of Don LaFontaine and how meeting him gave her inspiration for what she wanted to do with her voice over career.
